Chapter 23 – my new friend!

Wow that was a busy few months, Christmas was super busy, new years eve was such a good night, met some new friends that had just arrived in Malta from Colombia, and oh my goodness, what fun they were!  They’re here to find permanent positions in Malta and settle down.  Fabulously interesting talking to them about their work experiences (from what I can remember from the fog of hangover bubbles haha) One of them, I really clicked with, her name is Catalina, she’s 30 something, a marketing professional with heaps of experience, oh and she’s super funny – just my type of gal ! actually thinking about it I think she may have been the reason for my bubble haze the following morning 😂

They had asked me which recruiters were best to approach as they were finding even getting even an acknowledgment difficult. I immediately put this down to employers getting heaps of CVs landing on their desks and noticing my new friends would most certainly require a work permit, so to the bottom of the proverbial pile they go!.  So I suggested they contact the girls at tempsinmalta as they are always so helpful and have some superb advice, they also have a great understanding of the market and their client reach is strong.

As for me, I’m mid-way through a long term interim post and oh boy am I loving it! It’s just what I wanted, the hours are a great fit so I can drop and pick my daughter up from school and it really ticks all the boxes in terms of allowing me to use my qualifications and creative flair!  It’s so important for me to be able to do something that I feel I’m adding value to and can learn from!

Great news! I’ve just had a call from Catalina, her worry regarding her employment options being limited due to her being a TCN (third country national) are no longer a worry as the girls at tempsinmalta are now facilitating her applications to roles they have and marrying her up with some clients.  She’s now so excited, and relieved. She really does have some excellent skills that will be a great asset to any client!  We’re meeting up next week so I’ll get to find out all the nitty gritty and will fill you all in soon!
