Hanging high up on the figurative Christmas tree is usually a star or an angel – a symbol of divine light and guidance as we are thankful for the year that is ending and we look to the next one with hope and renewed promises. In parallel, at organizational level last quarter of the year is a crucial 3 months. We strive to close off leads, to rekindle old business relations, to develop new ones, to align our targets with actual business and we also forecast our business and drive it’s growth into the new year.

Much as the prime goal of any organization is profit making, much of the day to day unfolds around shared values and personal achievements. Afterall, the company’s success is only possible by each of the employees personal little successes and aspirations. When everyone pulls on the same rope and in tandem drives one corporate goal for growth, brand reputation and success, the individual goals are easier to achieve.

Delivering on time, reaching that weekly target, saving an additional cost, winning a new client or lead, acing a meeting, conveying an inspirational presentation – every little task is every collaborators little goal and every little goal contributes to the company’s overall goal – it’s mission statement.

During the festive times, we often see a re-alignment of company goals or even a reaffirmation or the creation of a new goal for the new year. It’s a time to get people on board, to empower them to make them feel like the company goal is their own personal goal and their own personal goal is the company’s goal. This interchangeable goal view point is what enables the corporation to move on, and remain fuelled for the new year.

There’s nothing more miserable than warming a seat for the sake of complacency and fear or change. So drink that champagne, enjoy those mince peas and by all means spread a little love, laughter and cheer under the infamous mistletoe ! Because work and life are so intertwined, despite all efforts for a healthy work life balance that tempsinmalta consistently encourages, that we need to ensure we remain happy and motivated at all times. Word.
