Chapter 6 Decision

I’ve decided, that’s it, I’ve decided! I’m not going to keep dragging my heels and procrastinating on every good idea that pops into my head! I’m going to do it, I really am. I’m going to temp for the next year or so and I’m going to try out several different industries and job types and then I’m going to study! Why not?! I’m a Mummy, yes, we know this and I’m busy, yes we know this and maybe, in fairness, a bit, shall we say ‘disorganised at times’, but on the whole I’m bright, diligent and loyal – goodness I sound like a golden retriever! Haha! Seriously, after thinking about this forever and ever, I’m going to set an example to my daughter and I’m going to continue from a strong education anyway and seriously look into what really interests me.

Just the other night, a group of friends and I were out sampling the delights of another gorgeous gin establishment in the beautiful heart of Valletta discussing what we would do in an ideal world, then it struck me, why not make ‘our ideal world’ happen. Seriously, what’s stopping us?! I have always wanted to forge a career, a career that captures me, makes me who I am, a job that isn’t a job, it’s ‘life’, it’s what I want to do, what a thrive on, my sustenance. A job that ultimately is a vocation, that knits nicely into my family life – to ensure a life/work balance.

We all seem to live within our own ‘narratives’, stifled by what we perceive to be our boundaries and limitations – why should we? Why shouldn’t we ‘try’ out new career ideas and options! I’ve always thought the Gaming industry would be fun and interesting so I’m definitely going to try that one and see if that would suit me and I’ve also thought that I could be maybe work in the Aviation industry, not a ‘trolley dolly’ but something on the ground, maybe HR and or training. I don’t actually know what but what I do know is I want to be in a position to balance my career, studies and young family – temping is a super way to do it. I’m going to make that call to tempsinmalta and speak to the super helpful girls there and start my journey ………
