Chapter 15 Diplomas ahead

So, I’ve been long pondering about whether to dust off those school books again and enter into the ‘academic world’. A top plus at this point is all the stationery I can justifiably purchase! (me being the stationery magpie that I am lol).

So I took my usual approach to a huge life decision…..I gathered my girlfriends and bought a good bottle of vino (or 3), and then …well, ok, so we forgot to discuss the big life decision, but we did rally around the next morning at brunch to discuss the pros and cons.

So to cut it short, the pros are, developing myself both academically and personally thus enhancing my employability and widening my choices somewhat. Cons are, well, what else could it be really, time ofcourse, I had to commit an amount of time, depending on what I would study to knuckle down and put pen to paper/fingers to keyboard so to speak.

We all did unanimously think it would be wise for me to contact the ladies at tempsinmalta, just to see what’s out there, what industry/profession would be a good direction for me to take and what potential interim roles there were so I could feasibly reduce my time down further.Afterall, I need a position that I can do, commit to, has flexibility and mostof all flatter my studies.

The meeting with the ladies at tempsinmalta was fabulous, as always, it seems there is a huge demand for professionals across most facets of industry and as my background is HR then this opened up a large arena for me. I do think I will opt for interim work, that way I can fit it around exam time and assignment times of my studies.

It would be far easier to manage it I had full ownership and flexibility of my time, but I also need to ensure that whatever role I took during this period suited my studies, there’s little point carrying out a role and not being able to learn from it so the ladies are going to help me.

For now I’m thinking of opting for a higher diploma in Administration and management as a top up to my degree and then see where that leads me, exciting times afoot!
