Now that we’ve overcome the confidence hurdle and equipped ourselves with new skills, in struts the newly found Timsy with more metaphorical feathers in her cap then the latest Roberto Cavalli couture hat collection! Complementing her hat feathers (skills), is her navy or vogue yellow skirt (discipline and structure), her crisp cotton linen blouse (innovative ideas and creativity), her tailored blazer (punctuality and confidence) and her fabulous patent court shoes (goal oriented and ambitious). She’s a breath of fresh air in a closed up office, a whisk of Hermes in stale room, a vibrant influence at the board table and a much needed source of positive energy on a Monday morning. Timsy fires up her PC, and as she sips her home made juice, she smiles at the team and asks about their weekend. There is shared sense of caring in the room, as opposed to a narcissist vibe and the day is about the begin. There is no time to waste in Timsy’s work life. The hours are short, the tasks are long, the goals are many. But with every new skill acquired, soft or hard, practiced or learnt, Timsy is better equipped for the day.
Not only does she use her newly found skills to the improvement of her work, and hence her results but she also uses them to further balance out her day. Her day of juggling work and personal tasks, becomes easier, more manageable as she strives to work smarter not harder, thereby freeing up some time time for herself. Oh the luxury of time! Timsy finds its 4pm in the afternoon, and all is ticking effortlessly, just like her Cartier wrist watch. Does she put her feet up to have a sneeky lie in at home, or does she use the time to read a book? Surely with such efficiency, she can allow herself a little time to herself. The 30 hour a week contract with an 8-2pm work day, has served her well. Enough office time to accomplish her goals, home by 2.30pm to whisk up lunch in time for the kids, time to handle the kids afternoon activities and also balance it out with some time for herself.
The forever faithful smart phone, permanently attached to her hip, is there for afternoon emails and work catch ups, to ensure that the next morning is not wasted catching up on yesterday’s work. Timsy is a firm believer, that what can be done today, should not be postponed to tomorrow. Timsy has upped the bar of her own achievements and performance whilst also finding the time to take better care of herself. This serves as a great example to others, and serves as a role model for her kids. Timsy is super charged, and ready to go. Until its 40 degrees Celsius outside, and its time for a well deserved break …
